Daniel Statham Architects was founded by Daniel Statham in London in 2006.
Much of the earlier work after graduating from University College London was collaboration with artists Langlands & Bell, Juan Munoz and Marc Quinn from the Art Agent White Cube, in addition to developing innovative techniques in construction with Atelier One.
Professional experience was enhanced further working under Norman Foster in the late 1990’s on projects Chek Lap Kok Airport Hong Kong, Swiss RE Tower London and Fosters’s personal private house in the South of France near St Tropez.
In 2004 Daniel worked along side the award winning British Product Designers Barber Osgerby to deliver the Stella McCartney Flagship Store, Mayfair, London for Gucci Group under the supervision of Tom Ford.
The Practice to date have worked in a variety of sectors across Asia, America and Europe. Daniel’s first project was the successful exhibition of China’s Terracotta Army at the British Museum, London which was a showcase event in the UK during 2007.
Daniel Statham Architects have now gone on to work and deliver projects for the United Nations HQ and Times Square Redevelopment in New York, the Singapore Pavilion for EXPO 2010 Shanghai, the Buddhist Cultural Museum and CDL HQ in Singapore and to work with Santiago Calatrava on the facade of the Chicago Spire in the United States. Some of our clients and works also include Samsung, Virgin Atlantic, Singapore Government and British Telecom.
Daniel started working in China 7 years for the EXPO 2010, since then he has been understanding the culture of China and working closely with Chinese Clients and Authorities. The clients now include PeaceBird Group, Li Yuchun, Fudan University, JieFang News Group, Yunnan Government and Hang Yuen Hin (HYH) to name a few.
Daniel has tutored and lectured at several design events and schools in London including the Architectural Association, University of the Arts, London Westminster School of Architecture and Tongji University. The practice is also involved in the London based ‘Workshop Collective’ which is a group of creative’s from various disciplines within the industry including Apple, Zumtobel and Missoni.
The studio is based in London and Madrid with representatives in Shanghai. The practice is multi-disciplinary and is currently working on a variety of projects within the industry.
